I would like to thank CNN.com for including the full transcript of Obama's speech. This made it easy for me to confirm that it was another massive spending initiative, devoid of new ideas, calling for the creation of mostly 'fluff' jobs that still wouldn't have us making anything we could sell to other countries.
I am saddened by the notion that this is the best the White House could do under the apparent heading of: "We need to tell everyone exactly what they want to hear and make voters think it sounds so good that republicans will come off looking really bad when they don't pass it."
Yes to more cuts, zero new spending, deficit reduction, creation of meaningful jobs (and the expected unemployment rate after a bill is passed), and a detailed outline of how it all gets paid for. Doesn't seem to me that this is too much to ask for, in a presidential speech, given the state of things.
